Today, Supreme Court judges Justice Anil R Dave, Justice Goyal and Justice Shiva Kirti Singh at 12.30 p.m took the NEET case on oral mentioning. All the three judges recorded the statement of MCI, Union of India & CBSE to hold NEET from the current academic session 2016-2017. After hearing the statements the Judges adjourned it for tomorrow hearing.
So, the matter will again put over tomorrow & more parties will be heard. MCI & CBSE as recorded in the statement “have assured the court that they are ready and willing to hold NEET examination for MBBS & BDS Courses from academic year 2016-2017.”
Earlier the Supreme Court said “Till the matter is decided, NEET can be implemented,”. which gave option for MCI to hold NEET from current year.
In response MCI vice-chairman Dr C V Bhirmanandham said “There is no uniformity in education across India and it may be unfair to ask students to appear for a common test which will be based on the CBSE syllabus, without giving them adequate time to prepare”, he also added “We have to come to a consensus with the state and issue fresh notification before the exams in May. That looks impractical,”
So It was very clear that MCI was not interested in conducting NEET from this year but now according to its statement to the SC it said they are ready from current session. This is very important development in the NEET.
But nothing can be clearly said now about the fate of NEET in 2016. Wait for tomorrow hearing as more parties will be heared before some final decision by the court is made. There are already around 50 petition filled in SC about NEET.
I don’t want NEET 2013 like situation this year, when NEET was conducted as per the SC order. Latter more petition were filled in SC and a final decision came that made NEET 2013 voluntary ( only those institutes or state interested can participate), so most of the sates & Private colleges started to conducted there own exam afresh. This resulted in lot of delay in the MBBS session and ultimately students had to suffer. In the mean time, you student keep your focus on your preparation don’t loose your focus over these matter.
All the best for all your upcoming exams.
