NEET UG 2016: CBSE Proposes Schedule for NEET, to be Held in Two Phases.

Today, Supreme Court of India Judges Justice Anil R Dave, Justice Goyal and Justice Shiva Kirti Singh , heard the MCI, UOI & CBSE. CBSE has planned the NEET UG 2016 & placed it before the court. CBSE wants to conduct NEET in two Phases, the Phase I will be on the same AIPMT Date i.e. 1st May for the students who have registered for it. Around 6.5 lakh students will appear on 1st May. Phase 2 will be for the students who have not applied for AIPMT, can apply for it, as per CBSE proposed date it will be conducted on 24 July 2016. Around 2.5 lakhs students are expected to participate in Phase 2. Results will be declared by 17th August 2016 & Counselling process will be over before 30th September 2016, which is the deadline for MBBS admission process.

After hearing different parties SC reserved the its earlier order, that means CBSE is allowed to conduct NEET as earlier said by SC.

This decision is coming just 3 days before the Phase 1 scheduled date which can upset some students. Some students are also arguing that 2.5 month difference between the two phase will add a advantage to the Phase 2 students. There are many other unanswered questions left behind e.g.: what about the NEET syllabus, will it be same for both Phases or not. If it is same will the state students accept it.

Tamil Nadu has already raised voice against NEET as the state takes admission on the basis of 12th syllabus but NEET will be having both 11th & 12th NCERT syllabus. This will favor the students of CBSE board not the state board students. Private Medical colleges are against NEET & are again planning to knock the doors of Supreme Court.

It is also important to note that Supreme Court has allowed CBSE to conduct NEET but it has not scrapped State exams & Private colleges exam. CBSE wants that the admission should be only on the basis of NEET merit list.
