NEET-UG 2017: Supreme Court Refused to Extend Exam Date

A writ petition was filed by Sankalp charitable trust to postpone the NEET-UG exam date which is scheduled on 7th May 2017. The writ petition (civil) 230 of 2017 SANKALP CHARITABLE TRUST Vs. UNION OF INDIA AND ORS was listed for hearing today.

The petitioner argued that due election class 12th examination are extended in some states like Madhya Pradesh, due to which Candidates will get very less time to prepare that will adversely affect thier ranking. According to the petitioner more than 3 lakhs Candidates will be affected.

After hearing the matter Hon’ble Supreme Court refused to extend the NEET exam date. Now, the NEET-UG exam will be held as per schedule on 7th May at 104 exam centres across the nation. More than 11 lakh Candidates are expected to be appearing for the exam, the highest number so far. Also, CBSE has postponed the date of releasing admit card in view of the orders of Honble Supreme Court of India to accept the applications of candidates above 25 years of age, Admit Cards will now be hosted on 22.04.2017 Read Here.
