It seems that CBSE is no mood to delay the matter and get trapped in judicial process. After the various High Court stopped CBSE from publishing results, CBSE had filled a petition in Supreme Court to cancel the stay order by High Court. All uncertainty over NEET results and re-conduct of exam may come to an end after today’s Supreme Court hearing.
A vacation bench of justice Prafulla C Pant and justice Deepak Gupta accepted the CBSE’s argument that if the stay was not vacated, college schedules would be thrown out of gear. “The high court shouldn’t have easily and liberally interfered with the schedule,” the bench said of the May 24 Madras High Court order.
The top court said the result, counselling and admissions would be conditional to its decision on matters pending before it, as it asked high courts not to entertain petitions relating to NEET. The CBSE will declare results by 26th june and display of OMR sheet will commence from 13th june.
The CBSE had on June 9 sought an immediate stay on the Madras high court’s interim order that came on a bunch of pleas that alleged the question paper was not uniform and there was a vast difference between the ones in English and in Tamil.
Consequent upon the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in SLP nos. 16307/2017 & 16311/2017 dated 12.06.2017, the Central Board of Secondary Education shall complete the following remaining steps for preparation and declaration of result:
