Supreme Court Refuses to Entertain Petition against NEET 2016 Paper Leak

Today Supreme Court heard the Writ Petition (civil) 637/2016 Anshul Agrawal Vs Union of India & ors. after 2p.m. Petition alleged that the NEET Phase II paper was leaked before exam. On the day of exam 5 persons were arrested in uttarakhand, who were taking 10-30 lakh for the question paper. Many students were stayed in the hotel before exam ans provided answers.

CBSE through a notification stated that the paper ceased by Uttarakhand police were matched with the original paper and was found different. Reports also emerged that CBSE changed the paper overnight after leak.

Today, CBSE during hearing said that there was no leak of question paper before exam and even the Lodha committee was satisfied that there was no irregularities in the exam. Lodha Committee was formed by Supreme Court to look after the working of MCI.

Supreme Court after hearing both parties said “We dont want to monitor probe and it is not what court is meant for. It is for police & CBSE to examine the issue and take a decision.” Although petitioner has been given freedom to approach High Court & monitor the case.
